Start with the business goal
Describe the change you want the website to support. Is the priority better-qualified enquiries, clearer service information, online sales or a simpler way to maintain content? Choose a primary goal so the project has a useful direction.
Describe the people making the decision
List your main customer types, what they need to understand and what might stop them from contacting you. Their questions help determine which pages matter and what evidence those pages need.
Inventory the content you already have
Gather your logo files, service information, approved photography, existing pages and project examples. Identify what needs to be written or created, and who is responsible for supplying it.
Define what the website must do
Separate essential functions from future possibilities. Forms, payments, bookings, integrations and multilingual content each affect the scope. Write down the expected behaviour so everyone is discussing the same thing.
Agree how the project will move forward
Set review milestones, a single feedback contact, the content handover date and the process for changes. Ask what training, maintenance and ownership arrangements will apply after launch.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Bring your goals, audience, must-have functions, content and timing. A clear starting point makes the proposal more useful.
